Your poems stay on your phone.
Lazvard is an Android app published by Acroatic Labs Ltd. This policy explains what the app keeps on your device, the limited usage and diagnostic reports it sends, and why.
Kept on your device
Your poems, titles, drafts, notebook, reading choices and appearance settings are stored only on your device. Scansion and pronunciation estimates run on your device. We do not receive your notebook, and there is no account or cloud sync.
Sent when you are connected
When your device is online, the app sends usage and diagnostic reports to PostHog, the analytics service we use. They contain:
- Usage events: which kind of screen you open, that a poem was started, saved, opened or deleted (without its text, title or identifier), scan statistics such as line, word and match counts and duration, which learning section you open, appearance settings you change, and app installed, updated, opened and backgrounded events.
- Unresolved words: when a scan of your own writing finds a word that is not in Lazvard's dictionary, the app can report that single word, how often it appeared in the scan and how the app handled it. Each word is reported at most once per day per installation, and at most 100 words per day. A word can be a name. Full poems, titles, surrounding lines and your reading choices are not attached. Words from the built-in poetry selections are never reported.
- Crash and error diagnostics: the type of error and where in the app it happened. Error messages are removed before they are sent.
- Identifiers and device information: a random installation identifier and session identifier created by the analytics library, the app and dictionary version, and device information such as device model, Android version, language, time zone and screen size.
Like any internet service, PostHog receives your device's IP address with each report. The app asks PostHog not to look up a location from it.
The app does not record your screen or sessions, does not use an advertising identifier, shows no ads and does not ask for your name, email address or other contact details.
Why we collect it
We use these reports to find words missing from the dictionary, to understand which features are used, and to find and fix crashes. Reported words are reviewed by hand; they are suggestions for the dictionary, not automatic additions.
We do not sell this information or share it for advertising. PostHog, Inc. processes it on our behalf as a service provider, in its United States region.
Keeping and deleting data
Reports are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted automatically.
Reports are not tied to you. They carry only a random installation identifier, never your name, account or contact details, so we cannot tell which reports came from you and cannot delete individual reports on request.
Uninstalling Lazvard deletes your notebook and settings from the device and stops all reporting. Reinstalling creates a new installation identifier. Back up any poems you want to keep before uninstalling.
Children
Lazvard is a general-audience writing and learning app. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes and contact
If the app starts collecting something new, we will update this page and its date before releasing that change.
